One of the songs was about serving wine to guests; after the song they served each of us a little rice wine.

At one point they set us up to do that Filipino folk dance called "tinikling." The bamboo poles are bounced up and down and clapped together in a predictable rhythm, so the point is to hop in between the poles without getting your ankles whacked.

Turns out Cathy did this in P.E. about 20 years ago, so she was something of a ringer. Show off!

With me, on the other hand, it was more like "Wha-- ouch! Whoa! Augh!"

This particular dance featured a lot of deep knee bends and spinning around.
|
For this dance, all the dancers and tourists were lined up in a conga line and marched around; eventually the conga line crossed through itself multiple times to make a messy knot, and then we all had to squat down while we walked/waddled around. Truly a tall man's nightmare.
